You had arranged to call me as a witness before Mr.

I do not remember your complaining about Mr. Craig not having allowed me to call witnesses.

Auguste Hanson states:

To Peak.

I am Warder in the Gaol.

Have been so for about 5 months.

I saw Peak on night of 28th June.

I was laying in my bed and half asleep when Peak came in.

He woke me up.

He said "What do you think of that"

I said "What?"

He said "I am suspended and sent off duty for being under the influence of liquor",

I did not notice that he was under the influence of drink.

He was not close enough for me to say whether he smelt of drink.

You fully woke me up.

I asked you "Those leg you are pulling?"

You said that you intended to call me as a witness before Mr. Craig.

Thomas James Smith states:

I am Warder in Victoria Gaol.

I joined as Warder on 12th March.

I saw Peak on evening of 28th June from 7.30 to 9.30 P.M.

After that I saw him at nearly 11 o'clock. That was in our quarters at 18 Hollywood Road.

Peak came up the stairs and woke me up in bed.

I was the first one he came to.
